Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre will open its doors this autumn after a five-year renovation, Managing Director Anatoly Iksanov announced on Friday.
Speaking at a news conference in the theatre’s newly refurbished foyer, Iksanov said that a curtain-raising gala would be held on October 28, to feature Russian and foreign opera and ballet stars. The event will be reserved for invitees only, he said, adding that the first post-renovation performance for the general public is scheduled for November 2.
