Tuesday, 30 November 2010 12:37

During his visit to the Gorokhovetsky firing range in the Nizhny Novgorod region on Thursday, where infantry units of the Western Military District were completing tactical exercises, Russia’s Supreme Commander-in-Chief Dmitry Medvedev had the opportunity to see how the country’s army has changed as a result of the ongoing reforms.

During the exercises the military showcased the Tunguska anti-aircraft missile and artillery weapon systems, Mi-8MT assault transport helicopters and Mi-28N combat helicopters designed to destroy armored vehicles.

Dmitry Medvedev also toured a state-of-the-art military field camp where diesel generators not potbelly stoves heat the tents and where the washing up is done by special dishwashers not draftees.
