Wakeboarding champions catch waves on the Moscow River

The champions in wakeboarding, an unusual sport in Russia, performed such dangerous stunts as jumps, somersaults and pirouettes during a show held on the Moscow River on July 10.
A large number of wakeboarding clubs have been formed in Moscow and St. Petersburg in recent years. The Russian capital annually hosts the summer contests. However, the professionals still prefer to train abroad, admitting though, that Russia can currently offer everything necessary for training. Wakesurfing clubs for those who prefer surfing to extreme wakeboarding have been established as well. Fans of this kind of sports do not try to amaze the spectators with acrobatic stunts. Surfing on the artificially created waves is enough for them.
At the end of the event, the organizers of the show announced that a surfing school would be established in Moscow and promised that lessons would be free there.
