Dmitry Medvedev: Presidency is hard work

Dmitry MEDVEDEV, PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA
“Being a president is hard work. Any one who is just starting out says he is ready to do two or three terms running. But it is usually the case that he does not yet understand what he has got himself into or that he is not really prepared for the job. It is a baptism of fire and you feel a tremendous responsibility for what you have started. So, if the plans I have put in place turn out to have been successful by the time I have to make that decision, if I have public support, which is the most important factor in any politician’s success, then I would be able to consider continuing my career and a second term in office. If I still have the desire to do it, well, I do not rule this out.”
