Svetlana Kapanina, the most highly recognized female pilot in aviation history, demonstrated her aerobatic skills at Bolshoye Gryzlovo airfield in the Moscow Region. She performed risky stunts with a Su-31M airplane at the Fifth Annual Aviation Enthusiasts Meet.

Svetlana Kapanina is often called the ‘queen of the skies.’ She has been flying for half of her life. Svetlana wanted to skydive but an instinct led her to flying lessons. In the last 22 years she has flown many different airplanes from a Yak-52 to a Su-31. Kapanina, who has won 39 gold medals in various world championships and received a personalized medal as the best pilot of the century, along with astronaut Neil Armstrong, never misses the enthusiast meet.
