On February 28, Sergey Lavrov met with UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 37th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Following on from regular contacts, the officials continued their exchange of views on all aspects of the Syrian conflict. They paid special attention to the implementation of the results of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress held in Sochi in late January, primarily, the formation of a constitutional commission with the participation of the Syrian Government and broad opposition representatives.

The officials also discussed humanitarian relief to Syria in the context of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2401 on February 24, which calls for a cessation of hostilities with the exception of anti-terrorist operations.
