Comment by the Information and Press Department on the series of terror attacks in Afghanistan

Wednesday, 25 October 2017 10:18

The past few days have seen a series of terror attacks in different parts of Afghanistan, including the provinces of Paktia, Ghazni, Kandahar, Kabul and Ghor. Over 150 Afghan citizens were killed and more than 200 wounded as a result.

Particularly heinous was the attack on Kabul's Shia Imam Zaman mosque by militants of the Afghan wing of ISIS. Over 100 civilians were killed and wounded as a result.

We strongly condemn the inhuman raids by terrorists. We express our condolences to the families and friends of those killed and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We call on the Afghan authorities and the Afghan armed opposition to stop the violence and launch a national dialogue to establish peace in the country and eliminate the conditions for terrorism as soon as possible.
