The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides continues working on peaceful settlement of the conflict and stabilizing humanitarian situation in the Syrian Arab Republic.

Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, the Russian-Turkish-Iranian Coordination Centre has registered several cases of ceasefire violation in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Idlib, Hama, Homs, Damascus, and Daraa over the last 24 hours.

Situation in the Eastern Ghouta is stabilizing. Peaceful life is being recovered.

Living houses and infrastructure objects are being cleared from mines and explosive devices in Douma. Over the last 24 hours, six houses and their territories have been cleared. In total, 10 explosive devices have been defused.

Normalization of situation in other settlements and towns of the Eastern Ghouta is continued.

Representatives of the Centre explored the most important objects of social infrastructure in the area of Kafr Batna, which were to be recovered. Buildings and constructions are being cleared from mines. Water and electricity supply systems are being recovered.

Syrian authorities have organized delivery of water and food supplies for citizens. Ambulances of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent are evacuating ill persons to medical establishment in Damascus.

Three kilometers of roads have been cleared from mines in Ayn Terma.

Due to efforts taken by the Russian Reconciliation Centre and the Syrian government, 62,946 citizens of the Eastern Ghouta have returned to their homes from camps for refugees and temporary displaced persons.

Work held by the Russian Centre and the Syrian government is aimed at de-escalation of situation in Damascus province.

The Russian Reconciliation Centre and Russian MP units finished the six-day operation on withdrawing insurgents and their families from Eastern Qalamun area.

On April 19-24, 1,992 insurgents of nine illegal armed formations and 3,503 members of their families left Dumeir, Ruheiba, Jerud, and Nasriyah.

They left 10 pick-ups with large-caliber machine guns, 77 small arms, 7 mortars, 728 hand grenades, 21 large-caliber machine guns, 42,000 munitions, 175 radio stations, and eight suicide bomber’s belts.

Moreover, due to reached agreements, the insurgents handed 28 armored vehicles, 23 Scud missiles, 35 AT grenade launchers, storages with large amount of small arms, AT means, and different munitions to the government troops of the Syrian Arab Republic under control of the Russian Reconciliation Centre.

In order to prevent provocations and provide security to civilians as well as to preserve public order, the Russian MP units are patrolling in Ruheiba, Jerud, and Nasriyah.

The Russian Centre controls process of amnesty of insurgents of illegal armed formations, who had decided to stay in inhabited areas of Eastern Qalamun and return to peaceful life.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation is above all focused on stabilizing the humanitarian situation, providing medical assistance to the people in need and meeting the priority needs of citizens.

The Russian Centre provided security to humanitarian convoys of the United Nations moving to Tell Shihab and al-Tayba, Daraa province. Citizens have received food and household supplies. Total weight of the cargos has reached 214 tons.

Humanitarian action took place in Adra camp for refugees, Damascus province. Citizens have received two tons of personal hygiene products, household care products, and medical supplies.

Russian military medics have provided medical assistance to 114 Syrians, including 34 children.

The reconstruction of the destroyed social infrastructure and the establishment of peaceful life in the Syrian provinces enable people to return back to their former homes.

Over the past day, 210 people have returned to Homs province, 440 – to Deir ez-Zor province (Eastern shore of the River Euphrates), and 237 – to the Eastern Ghouta.

The Russian Centre is registering the number of citizens leaving Tell Rifaat de-escalation zone for Membij, Aleppo province. Over the last 24 hours, 351 people have left the area.
