Briefing by Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria (August 5, 2018)

Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides held a humanitarian action in Shayban-Pasha, Sheykh-Fars, al-Qasidiyah and Sheykh Hoder districts of Aleppo city providing 15 families of Syrian fallen servicemen with food sets, school supplies;  civillians also received a ton of bread.

Military medics have provided medical assistance to more than 90 people, including 46 children over the past day.

In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 1,885 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 2,877.96 tons.

Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone continue mortar and artillery attacks against the towns of Mamuhiyah (five times), Beyt Jnauro, Latakia province, and Khadrat district of Aleppo city.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations operating  in the Idlib de-escalation zone to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy.
