Sunday, 24 June 2018 10:52

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides continues working on peaceful settlement of the conflict and providing comprehensive assistance to Syrian citizens.

Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, illegal armed formations breach ceasefire regime in the provinces of Latakia and Aleppo.

Recovering of social infrastructure and establishment of peaceful life in Damascus enables people to return back to their homes.

The engineering units of the Syrian Army have completed demining of al-Nasriyah, southern areas of Douma and have continued working to ensure the safety of the population and social infrastructure.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation monitored situation in Ain-Zrekia, the province of Damascus, to define scope of reconstruction work. Medical assistance to citizens is organized.

The necessary conditions for the return of citizens have been created through the efforts of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation and authorities in the Syrian Arab Republic. Over the past day, 68 people have returned to Homs province, and 110 people – to the Eastern Ghouta. Due to improving humanitarian situation, 70,071 people have returned home in the Eastern Ghouta from refugee and IDP camps.

Russian military medics have provided medical assistance to more than 194 people, including 100 children.

Measures taken by Russia, Turkey and Iran stabilize situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone; civilians return back to their homes in Aleppo province. Over the past day, 465 people with private properties have passed through the Tal-Sultan – Abu al-Duhur humanitarian corridor. Military medics have provided medical assistance to more than 179 people, including 93 children.

The humanitarian situation in the Southern de-escalation zone is worsening because of the actions of terrorists. The leaders of illegal armed groups, who control distribution of the bare necessities in the villages of southwestern Syria, do not provide the population with enough food and medical supplies.

The Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges the terrorists to stop provocative actions and perform the requirements of the Memorandum on the establishment of de-escalation zones in the Syrian Arab Republic.
