On the visit of Mr M.Ulyanov, Head of the Department of Non-Proliferation and Arms Control, MFA of Russia, to India

Mr Mikhail Ulyanov, Head of the Department of Non-Proliferation and Arms Control, MFA of Russia, during his visit to India to participate in the next round of bilateral consultations with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, on March 23-24, 2017 gave a lecture in the Indian Foreign Service Institute and answered numerous questions of experts, journalists, students and diplomats.

Mr Ulyanov focused on issues of the Russian-Indian cooperation in prevention of use of weapons of mass destruction by terrorists, non-placement of weapons in outer space and peaceful use of nuclear energy. Considerable attention was paid to the topic of the Indian membership in the Nuclear Suppliers Group as well as coordination in the framework of the Missile Technology Control Regime, the Hague Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missiles Proliferation, pushing forward negotiations within the Biological Weapons Convention and Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism.
