“Luxury Band” from Moscow Enthrals Delhi Audience

A brilliant performance by the famous “Luxury Band” from Moscow enthralled the Delhi audience at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi on June 8, 2016. The function, jointly organised with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, heralded the celebrations dedicated to the Day of Russia.

An elite audience comprising diplomats, art lovers, social activists, Russian compatriots, students, media persona and others attended the programme.

The function was conspicuous with the gracious presence of H.E. Mr. Alexander Kadakin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to India. Other dignitaries who attended the programme were Major Dalbir Singh, Secretary, All-India Congress Committee, Prof. Ramadhikari Kumar, President, Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, Prof. Sankar Basu, President, Indian Alumni Association of Soviet/Russian Academic Institutions, Mr. Fedor Rozovskiy, Director, RCSC, and others.

The splendid musical performance involving Russian folk songs, Russian movie songs, international popular songs, including a Hindi movie song, synchronising with thrilling dance numbers drew profuse applause and standing ovation from the audience which testified to the excellence reflected in the artists’ performance. The main attractions among the items were the well-known songs “Gi Moroz Moroz”, “Kalinka-Malinka” and “Moscow Evenings”. The soloists were Maria Akimova and Alexander Ikonnikov. Other important participants were Vladimir Solovyh (bas), Nikolai Kulikov (solo guitar), Mikhail Borychev (drums), Andrey Grigoriev (piano). Ilia Lunev was the sound director. The dancers were Diana Navina Gulab and Julia Kuzmina.

Winners of many competitions, including High-Heel Competitions 2015-2016, the Luxury Band Jazz musical team had performed in all CIS Countries at all weather conditions right from -47 degrees C in Jakutia to + 43 degrees C in Delhi. The artists are mostly graduates from the musical academy, named after Gnesins. They had performed in many Russian and international musical festivals. Each show of this amazing band is a real enjoyment for all music connoisseurs.

Mr. Fedor Rozovskiy felicitated the artists after the performance.
