Russian Folk Dance Ensemble "Siberian Patterns" to perform in India

Russian Folk Dance Ensemble "Siberian Patterns" from Novosibirsk will give a performance at the RCSC in New Delhi on December 8, 2012.

The concert is jointly organized by the Representative Office of the Federal Agency "Rossotrudnichestvo" and the Inter-Regional Public Organization "Dostoyanie" (Moscow) with the support of the Russian Embassy in India and Consulates General of Russia in Kolkata and Chennai.

After New Delhi, the team will perform in two more cities of India: at the RCSC in Kolkata on December 10, at the RCSC in Chennai on December 14.

The concert tour is organized to mark the 65th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and India and 40th Anniversary of the RCSC in Chennai.

The Siberian Patterns Dance Ensemble, which comprises more than 120 children in the age group from 3 to 18 years, was established in 1995 at the Youth House of Arts named after A. Efremov in Novosibirsk.

Irina Ovechkina, Honorary Worker of the general education of the Russian Federation and the teacher of the highest qualification category, is the Art Director and Choreographer of the Ensemble.

The Siberian Patterns Dance Ensemble is a winner of many prestigious national and international competitions.

The Siberian Patterns is a member of the International Dance Committee of UNESCO, the winner of the Grand Prix of the International Competition "Vivat, Italy" and the Contest "Kaleidoscope of Rhythms", the First Prize Winner of the international contest "Spring Dance Extravaganza" and of the VII Eurasian Competition of Choreographers. It is also a gold medalist of the XX Youth Delphic Games of Russia, the holder of the First Delphic Cup and gold medalist of the VII Open Youth Delphic Games of the CIS States “Energy of the Young” (September 2012).

In March 2012, the Ensemble was included in the "Golden Book of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region". 

Entry to the Concert Hall of the RCSC in New Delhi on December 8 is free. Seating arrangement is on first come first served basis.
