A unique, colourful cultural programme, presented by the famous Russian Group “Larisa”, was organized in Nagarcoil, Tamil Nadu, for the benefit of Russian and Indian nuclear scientists and other personnel working at the Koodamkulam Nuclear Power Project on April 22, 2012.
The function, dedicated to the 65th Anniversary of the Russian-Indian Diplomatic Relations, was held under the joint auspices of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Trivandrum and the Joint Stock Company Atomstroyexport.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the function, Mr. Evgeniy Dudkin, Head of the Russian experts at Koodamkulam Nuclear Power Project, said that cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy between Russia and India has become a major area of bilateral cooperation in the current century. “Russia’s advanced and safe technology can help India in its development”, said Mr. E. N. Dudkin.
Larisa Studio presented a 90-minute cultural show comprising Russian traditional dances, contemporary European dances, pair dances and Russian folk songs by Yulia Pakhomova and Alexander Rukhadze.
Larisa Studio has earlier performed in Trivandrum and Chennai.
The group is well-known to the South Indian public. They had their first visit in April, 2011 to mark the Days of the Altai Region in Kerala.
