Budding Artists Honoured at Annual Art Exhibition in New Delhi

Around 60 students of five nationalities of the Art School of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture were honoured at the annual Art Exhibition held on April 19, 2012. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the children at the function, were 75 paintings and craft works made by them were on display.

Participating in the function were the Chief Guest, Mr. Abhay Kumar, Artist, Poet and Diplomat, Ms. Yelena Shtapkina, Deputy Director (Culture & Information) RCSC and Ms. Ekaterina Pokrovskaya, Teacher of the Art School.

The function was attended by the parents of the children, who will have a break on the completion of the course of studies of the season and avail holidays.

Hailing the efforts of the RCSC in providing a forum for such exhibitions, Mr. abhay Kumar said that initiatives in this regard enabled a lot in eliciting the talent from young and upcoming artists. He expressed a note of appreciation on the Importance of the Art School bringing children from different countries under one roof.

Earlier, in her welcome remarks, Ms. Yelena Shtapkina pointed out that the activities of the Art School immensely helped in boosting the imagination, confidence, team-work and spirit of children.

 

After the official part of the function was over, the children were asked to apply appropriate colours on a single large painting on canvas with the outline already set by the Art School Teacher. The painting will be preserved as a memory in the Art School.
