Russian Dance Group in Trivandrum to Mark 65th Anniversary of Russian-Indian Diplomatic Relations

With a Gala Concert by the globally-acclaimed dance group Larisa Studio (Barnaul, Russia) the 14-day Russian Festival marking the 65th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Russia and India came to a close at Trivandrum. The concert was held at the Co-Bank Towers Auditorium on April 18, 2012.

Speaking on the occasion, the Guest of Honour Mr. T. P. Sreenivasan, former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, pointed out that the bilateral relations between India and Russia was based on mutual trust and understanding.

While making his observation, Guest of Honour Mr. Fyodor A. Rozovskiy, Director, Russian Centre of Science and Culture, New Delhi and Chief Representative of ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO noted that the decades-long Russian-Indian friendship and cooperation went on strengthening year by year thanks to the annual summits of leaders of both countries and continuous people-to-people diplomacy.

The function was presided over by Mr. Ratheesh C. Nair, Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation and Director, Russian Cultural Centre, Trivandrum.

Larisa Studio presented a magnificent cultural show comprising both Russian folk dance and contemporary European dances.

Mr. Shibu Baby John, Minister for Labour, Government of Kerala, presented memento to the Group leader Ms. Larisa Lubuvoi. The Minister laid stress on the genuine friendly relations between India and Russia towards materialising a multi-polar world. He also underlined the role of cultural exchange programme in bringing peoples of different countries closer to each other.
