Moscow, April 9, 2012

Esteemed Mr Krishna,

Please accept cordial congratulations on the momentous occasion – the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries.

Russia values its friendship and cooperation with India. Strengthening and multidimensional development of mutually beneficial ties with your country have always been one of the priorities of Russia’s foreign policy.

Effective mechanisms of Russian-Indian special and privileged strategic partnership have been created over the past years on the solid basis of mutual trust and common long-term national interests. This partnership includes intensive dialogue at the top and high levels, close ties in trade, economic, military, scientific and cultural fields, expanding interaction in the international arena.

I am convinced that further dynamic advance of Russian-Indian relations in all fields will benefit peoples’ prosperity in our countries, peace and security in Asia and the entire world.

Sergey Lavrov
