Medvedev to meet India PM

Thursday, 29 March 2012 04:58

Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev is scheduled to take part in a Brics summit in New Delhi and meet India`s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Mr. Medvedev`s aide Sergei Prikhodko said that Russia expects the summit`s agenda to focus on the global economic situation and let all Brics member countries exchange their views on the most pressing issues ahead of the G20 summit in Mexico in June.

He added that Moscow is also interested in discussing a reform of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a possibility of Brics nations to contribute to the IMF resources.

Talks with Manmohan Singh are going to tackle Russia`s assistance to India in building new nuclear reactors, Mr. Prikhodko said.
