Russian Festival “Beryoza” at D.P.S. Dwarka

      The D.P.S. Dwarka bagged the “Overall Trophy” in the competitions held in connection with the Russian Festival “Beryoza”, organized by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) jointly with D.P.S. Dwarka on August 3, 2011.

At the colourful function, competitions were held in hand-writing, painting on Indo-Russian friendship, colouring Russian doll Matryoshka, group-song and group-dance, display of exhibits and souvenirs. The participants at the competition were D.P.S. Dwarka, D.P.S. Indirapuram, Springdales, Daula Kuan, and Bulebells School International.

The Jury members consisted of Dr. Girish Munjal, Director, Institute of Russian Language, RCSC, Ms. Tatyana Perova, former Head of the Institute of Russian Language (RCSC, Chennai), Ms. Gelina Golikova and Ms. Aigul Apieva, Russian language teachers. Ms. Monika Sharma, Russian Language Teacher, D.P.S. Dwarka, and Ms. Ekaterina Parashar provided full support and guidance in the conduct of the programme.

The distinguished guests of the function— The Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman, D.P.S. Dwarka & D.P.S. Society, the Guests of Honour, Mr. Sergei  Karmalito, Senior Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, and Ms. Yelena Shtapkina, Deputy Director (Culture & Information), RCSC---distributed the prizes to the winners of the competitions.

Mr. Ashok Chandra expressed deep gratitude to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture for the sincere cooperation extended to the D.P.S. Dwarka in making the festival a great success.

Mr. Sergei Karmalito immensely lauded the enthusiasm and interest shown by students in Russian culture. He congratulated the organizers for their consistent efforts in making the Russian Festival a memorable one.

Ms. Yelena Shtapkina profusely appreciated the supreme efforts taken by the school and its staff to preserve the interest in Russian language and culture among the young people of India, and added that the students and teachers have always represented their esteemed institution with dignity. She lauded the teaching methods, based on creativity and dynamism, adopted by the Russian language teacher, Ms. Monika Sharma, all the time remaining as a constant source of inspiration to students.
