July 9, 2011 witnessed a wedding ceremony of two young Russians who work in New Delhi. Alexander Bondarenko, an attaché of the Russian Embassy and private secretary to the Ambassador, and Victoria Butchenko, an employee of the representation of the “Sistema” company, contracted a marriage.
The Russian wedding was held in the Indian style: both newlyweds and guests were dressed in traditional Indian wedding costumes. The groom sported not only a smart maroon shervani, but a magnificent maharaja turban as well, while the bride was radiant in her cornflower blue sari with golden and silver embroidery.
Russian Ambassador Alexander M.Kadakin heartily congratulated the newly married couple with the unforgettable occasion. He reminded that it was his second “diplomatic” wedding during his second ambassadorial tenure since November 2009. “If the Embassy celebrates weddings, then it is a good omen and an incentive for work,” noted the Ambassador. “From my heart I wish you, my near and dear couple, good health, love, harmony, wellbeing and lots of children”.
