On March 14-16, 2017, the 3rd Counter Terrorism Conference organized by India Foundation was held in New Delhi. The level of participants and the theme of the Forum – “Terrorism and the Indian Ocean” – proved its high importance and relevance. From India, Vice President H.Ansari, Minister of Home Affairs R.Singh, Minister of Railways S.Prabhu, Ministers of State for External Affairs M.J.Akbar and V.K.Singh, Minister of State for Home Affairs K.Rijiju, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister A.Doval, MEA Secretary P.Saran addressed the audience. Among foreign delegates Prime Minister of Sri Lanka R.Wickremesinghe, Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal B.Nidhi, heads of law-enforcement, defence and legal agencies of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Israel, Oman, Singapore participated in the event. Representatives of diplomatic corps, academic circles and mass media also took part in the discussions.
The Russian delegation was represented by Director of the Center for Euro-Atlantic Security, International Studies Institute, MGIMO, Dr A.I.Nikitin, Deputy Director of the Institute for the Commonwealth of Independent States Dr V.V.Evseev, Deputy Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies Dr V.D.Milovidov, Deputy Head of Desk of the Department of counteraction to financing of terrorism of the Russian Financial Control Service M.V.Kolinchenko. Reports of the Russian experts on the national approaches as well as practical measures in the fields of counter-piracy, ensuring security during huge public events and cooperation against terrorism in the regions of the Central Asia, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific were highly appreciated.
