Reconciliation of opposing sides and stabilization of humanitarian situation are the main vectors in political settlement of the crisis in the Syrian Arab Republic.

Representatives of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation carried out a humanitarian action in the settlement of Tall-Rifaat, Aleppo province. People received 650 food sets with a total weight of 2.8 tons.

In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 1,889 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 2,888.16 tons.

Military medics have provided medical assistance to more than 66 people, including 47 children over the past day. In total 87,623 people were provided with medical aid.

Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Insurgents attacked the following towns over the past day: Ikko (two times), Saraf, Mortlu, Mamuhiyah and Hamrat, Latakia province, Zalaqiyat, Hama province, and Handrat, al-Zahra (four times) and al-Hamdaniyah (three times) districts, Aleppo city.

Terrorists launch armed drones from occupied territories towards the Hmeymim air base.

On August 9, 2018, in the evening, Russian air defence systems of the Hmeymim Air Base air base detected a unidentified small-size air target (drone) launched from a territory occupied by illegal armed formations in the north of Latakia province.

The anti-aircraft systems eliminated the air target at a considerable distance form the air base. No casualties or material damage was caused. The Hmeymim Air Base functions as planned.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy.
